I take your privacy and confidentiality seriously. Any personal information you share with me is handled securely and used only for purposes connected with providing therapy and managing our work together.
This notice explains what information I collect, how it is used and stored, and the rights you have in relation to your personal information.
What I collect
When you contact me or begin working with InnerLight, I may collect information such as your name, contact details and information about what has brought you to therapy.
I also keep appropriate clinical records and brief session notes to support the work we are doing together.
How your information Is used
Your information is used to provide therapy safely and professionally, to maintain appropriate clinical records, and to manage practical aspects of our work together.
What you share with me is treated as confidential, subject to the usual legal and professional exceptions. These may include circumstances where I believe there is a serious and imminent risk of harm, or where I am legally required to disclose information.
Wherever possible and appropriate, I will discuss this with you before information is shared.
How your information Is stored
I take reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure. Records are stored on encrypted, password-protected devices and appropriate measures are used to protect the information I hold.
Information contained in emails and text messages is managed and deleted when it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected.
Clinical records are retained for seven years after therapy ends, after which they are securely destroyed.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you have rights in relation to the personal information I hold about you. These may include the right to:
- request access to your personal information
- ask for inaccurate information to be corrected
- request deletion of your information where applicable
- ask for the way your information is processed to be restricted
- object to certain uses of your information
