InnerLight Counselling offers specialist support for adults living with the impact of trauma, abuse, or long‑standing emotional patterns. My work in grounded in depth, safety, and collaboration, creating a steady space where meaningful change can take root.
I support clients who want to understand themselves more deeply, reclaim a sense of self that may have been overshadowed by past experiences, and move towards a life that feels grounded, empowered, and aligned with who they truly are.
My approach integrates EMDR, relational therapy, and parts‑based work to support both emotional and nervous‑system healing, helping you explore what you’re carrying at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of your story.
Hello and a warm welcome — I’m Susanna, a BACP Accredited Counsellor and EMDR Therapist. I specialise in supporting adults living with the ongoing effects of trauma, early relationships, or overwhelming life experiences. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and paced, offering a grounded space to understand yourself more deeply and move forward with greater clarity and self‑trust.
A calm moment to hear more about my work in my own words
My approach is grounded in trauma‑informed, relational therapy that moves at a pace that feels safe and steady. I work collaboratively, helping you understand your patterns, process past experiences, and reconnect with a sense of inner stability and choice.
I offer integrated trauma‑informed therapy for adults, blending EMDR, relational work, and parts‑based approaches. Some people come specifically for EMDR, while others weave it naturally into their therapeutic journey. I also offer coaching for clients who feel grounded and ready to focus on clarity, direction, and meaningful change. Sessions are available online or in person, and we work together at a pace that feels steady and supportive.

Since completing my initial training (Dip4 Therapeutic Counselling), I have worked as a Trauma‑Informed Therapist for almost 10 years, with extensive experience supporting survivors of many forms of abuse, neglect, and relational trauma.
Your needs and goals will guide which therapeutic approach is most suitable. During the 30‑minute initial consultation (£30), we can explore what you’re hoping to work on and identify the approach that feels like the best fit for you
Yes. I offer in‑person sessions from my home office. Online sessions are available via Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, WhatsApp, or by telephone.
Weekly sessions are recommended at the beginning of therapy to help establish a strong foundation for our work together. After that, the frequency of sessions is flexible and depends on your needs and goals. Some clients continue weekly, while others prefer fortnightly or monthly sessions.
Yes. I offer time‑limited and brief therapy packages if you prefer a set number of sessions. We can discuss what might suit you best during the initial consultation. Please note that advance payments for packages are non‑refundable.
You can book by getting in touch through the contact form on my website or by sending me a direct message. I’ll respond with available session times and guide you through the next steps.
I don’t currently offer concessionary rates. If you’re experiencing financial hardship, I can signpost you to low‑cost or free support within the voluntary sector or NHS services.
Payments are made in full prior to your session via bank transfer. All payment details will be provided once we’ve been in touch and agreed an appointment time.
Sessions missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are non‑refundable. In the unlikely event that I need to cancel, your session will be postponed and rescheduled at no additional cost.
Many people come to trauma‑informed therapy because something feels stuck, overwhelming, or harder than it should be. You might notice repeating patterns in relationships, feeling constantly on edge, or carrying more than feels manageable. Often, past experiences continue to shape the present in ways that aren’t immediately obvious.
You don’t need perfect words or a fully formed story — only a sense that something within you wants attention and care. If this speaks to you, reaching out could be the first step toward feeling more steady, connected, and at ease in yourself.
